    Computer systems function to produce an output which is the result of data that has been processed. The output can be in the form of information, images, sound or video.

     Computers can run well and can be used optimally if all supporting components exist. The following are some of the most important Computer Components:

      1. Hardware

Hardware or what we commonly call hardware is a component of a computer system that has a physical shape and can be touched. Hardware on a computer system also consists of several component units, namely:

Central Processing Unit (CPU)

     CPU or Central Processing Unit is the brain of a computer system, this unit is responsible for all activities that occur within the computer. The CPU functions as a data processing center and controls all internal and external devices connected to the computer.

Unit Input A data or instruction must be input first before it is processed into information as we want, therefore it requires an input unit that becomes a gate for data from the outside world into the computer system. The forms of data that have been input will be converted into binary code so that it can be read by main memory. Of course the data form on each input device is different. For example on the keyboard device, the form of data generated is a letter or number, different from the mouse input device.

Output Unit

     The output unit has a function opposite to the unit input. If the input data unit from outside is inserted into the computer system, then the output unit is the opposite. The output unit produces information or data that is the result of processing on a computer system. The data generated can be in the form of information, pictures, sounds or videos.

Storage Unit

Data or instructions that have been inputted on a computer system through the input unit are first stored on the storage unit before being completely processed. Likewise with the results of the data that has been processed, the data is first stored in the storage unit before being transferred to the output unit.

      2. Software

Software is a component of a computer system that has no physical form or form. Software has digital form stored on computer memory. There are various types of software categories on computer systems, namely:

- System Software is a category for software that regulates and controls hardware components on a computer which allows interaction between hardware and other types of software. One example of a Software System is a computer operating system, but drivers on a device can also be classified in this category.

- Utility Software is a category for software that maintains and protects computer systems but does not face directly with hardware. Examples of software included in the Utility Software category are anti-virus software, firewalls, disk defragmenters and others.

Application Software

     3. Brainware

The last component in a computer system is Brainware. Brainware can be interpreted as people or intellectual devices that use, use or operate computer devices. That is the understanding of computer systems and computer system functions along with the three main components that form the basis of a system on a computer so that they are able to carry out tasks and commands as you have instructed. Without these components, it is impossible for a computer system to run normally.
